• A Spoonful of Sugar

O' dear, I am pleased that you have chosen to read my blog. Never judge things by their appearance -- I am just a simple lady who is becoming a mom.

I have a lovely husband, Kyle, and a precious little westie, Hudson -- that we just adore! I believe everything has a place and I'm very excited to have been given the opportunity to "tidy up the nursery".

I know through my Lord and Savior there is a much grander place for me, a place where everything will be "practically perfect". I hope you enjoy my thoughts, projects and updates on our "little bird". More importantly, I pray that from the moment you step into our world, things "begin to happen" -- that you be inspired to serve, love and create.

Well hello, there!

Hey, hey, it’s Elizabeth’s friendly family photographer crashing her blog!  Some technical difficulties created by someone who wanted to be helpful made this blog an ugly place to be for a minute, but we spent a little bit redesigning and such so Elizabeth could again fill us in on the tale of their life.

In the interest of making this place cute again and holding up my end of the bargain, I thought I’d post a few things that will keep everyone sweet and reminiscent.  Last year sometime, Kyle had me make this for Elizabeth.  He wrote it all – I just made it cute.  Love it.

And that lil’ Reese girl – We’ve been making her picture each month and I’ve been failing at sharing them with Elizabeth sooooooo, watch Reese grow!!

Remember when these crazies had a little girl?

And then we headed home to shoot her over her first month…2 months at the shop.3 months at the park.  And we got to make use of some linens from her shower.  Love.  4 months in the shop again.  5 months on the eve of Christmas Eve.  And finally 6 months we just shot this weekend.  Reese still doesn’t like the idea of me making pictures of her, but we’re working on our relationship.  Enjoy!

Turkey Day

I almost forgot to share Reese’s 1st Thanksgiving photos! Enjoy!

5 Months Old

I’m 5 Months Old Today!!
12.25.2011

Santa was so good to me–I loved all my fancy toys and books!

I got a Mary Poppins book but my mommy got tickets to the actual play (she was so very excited)! O’ I sure do hope that I’ll get to experience a “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” experience someday!

  • I’ve started blowing bubbles
  • Laughing/Smiling all the time: especially at my Papaw
  • Sleeping and Eating much better (thank goodness)!
  • I’ve also started to hold my head up really well.
  • My mommy has been giving me this oatmeal stuff that I’m not thrilled about; however, I’m sure she’ll keep insisting.

  • I weigh 13.6–I have a few rolls and they are preicous!
  • I’m 27 inches long!

  • Reese went to Daddy’s work Oct. 28th for their company trick or treat!
  • Reese made an appearance at FBC with her cousin Mason on Oct. 31st for their Fall Festival!
  • Reese hated the big bow and taking the pictures–so this was the best shot!
  • Started using cloth diapers after beach vacation–LOVE THEM!!
  • Mommy went back to work 11/21–but has wonderful people taking care of Reese!

*1st Day at Mrs. Julie’s–having so much fun!

  • Loves playing with her hands and sucking her hands/fingers.
  • Started to notice Hudson:)

We were able to snap a picture of Reese with her Kacky! Precious!

3 Months Old

Reese turned 3 months on October 25th

  • Weighs 10.75
  • 25 inches long
  • Taking her soy formula better now but still a slow eater!
  • Switched to Playtex Drop in Bottles because she loves them… (only tried Dr. Brown’s and Avent) but discover this bottle on vacation because she needed pedialyte in a slow flow nipple.
  • Smiles all the time (mostly at her daddy though). However, it’s so hard to get a picture of her smiling because she is so quick about her smiles!
  • Tries to talk and works her tough sticking it out at everyone!
  • We practice holding our head up!
  • Really starting to look around and recognizes mommy and daddy’s voices.

  • Took her 1st Vacation to Gulf Shores, AL with the parents/grandparents/cousin Mason–had a wonderful time!
  • Started to do better with her reflux during vacation! I think Reese LOVES the beach!

Love the toes in the sand!
